The Minnesota Frost never cease to be a scary team. Year after year, they’ve maintained strong offence, defence, and goaltending. The Frost offered many highlight-reel moments in 2025–26. Here are just three of them.

Moment #3: Kendall Cooper’s stick save

Many goalies this season made incredible stick saves, such as Gwyneth Philips, Emerance Maschmeyer, and the Minnesota Frost’s very own Maddie Rooney. But one of the best stick saves of the year was made by defender Kendall Cooper. She batted the puck out of the air just centimetres away from the goal line.

Moment #2: Kelly Pannek’s and Taylor Heise’s 30th points of the season

Both Kelly Pannek and Taylor Heise made history by becoming the first two players to reach 30 points in a single season. Pannek ended the season with 16 goals and 17 assists, while Heise tallied 13 goals and 17 assists.

On April 22, 2026, Pannek notched her 30th point with a secondary assist on Grace Zumwinkle’s goal in the second period. Later that same period, Heise went end to end and perfectly placed a beautiful sharp-angle shot above the shoulder of goaltender Hannah Murphy and just under the crossbar.

Moment #1: Sam Cogan’s first playoff goal and the fan-led donation movement

Forward Sam Cogan joined the Minnesota Frost late in the season after a highly successful year with SDE HF in the SDHL. She previously played for PWHL Toronto in 2024 and was briefly a reserve for the Toronto Sceptres in 2024–25.

Cogan quickly became a fan-favourite in Minnesota, and one fan in particular pledged that she would donate $50 to an organization of Cogan’s choosing if Cogan scored in the playoffs.

On May 12, 2026, in Game 5 of the Walter Cup semifinals against the Montréal Victoire, Cogan netted a game-tying goal in the second period. While the Frost went on to lose that game and series, the fan movement to donate in honour of Cogan’s goal grew.

Cogan asked for donations to go toward Every Meal, an organization that distributes food to children facing food insecurity in Minnesota. She donated herself, and the movement gained traction. In total, fans raised over US$4,000 for Every Meal.

This offseason, the Frost re-signed Cogan to a two-year deal, so she’ll be back in purple once again.
