While the Seattle Torrent didn’t have the inaugural season they had hoped for, the team set new attendance records and showcased its skill and resilience in many moments across the season. Here are just three of those moments.
Moment #3: Comeback for first win in team history
Against the New York Sirens on December 3, 2025, the Seattle Torrent secured their first win in team history in dramatic fashion.
Following a game misconduct from New York’s Kristýna Kaltounková with four minutes left that put the Torrent on the player advantage, Alex Carpenter secured the tying goal with less than a minute and a half to play. Just 22 seconds later, captain Hilary Knight tapped in the loose puck, and Seattle had their first win, and their first at home.
Moment #2: Anna Wilgren’s filthy shootout goal
You don’t often see a defender in a shootout, and rarely do you see them pulling out a move like this. Anna Wilgren shocked the Takeover Tour crowd in Hamilton with this deke around Toronto Sceptres goaltender Raygan Kirk.
Moment #1: Inaugural home-opener
The Torrent made history at their inaugural home-opener on November 28, 2025, with a crowd of 16,014. This number marked a PWHL attendance record in the United States as well as the highest-attended game of a team in their primary venue. Seattle Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell was among those in the stands.
