Today was not expected to be an announcement day for new names for PWHL Seattle and PWHL Vancouver, and while there were sporadic announcements across the league, PWHL Seattle accidentally released their new name and logo in a different announcement.

Looks like the new name for PWHL Seattle is the Seattle Torrent!

This is the post that was deleted shortly after going up:

How did the PWHL Seattle name get leaked?

The team today updated an announcement post about their training camp roster for the 2025–26 season, which was initially dated October 16.

Upon closer examination, the branding at the top shows the logo as the Seattle Torrent, with a new logo but similar colours. The logo on the website is still the same PWHL Seattle logo, but this announcement has the new branding on it.

All of the team’s other announcements, including the Unity, Theme, and Promotional Games announcement today, include the original logo, but this being put in an earlier published post looks like an oops by the team.

With the announcement expected later this week officially, we will have to see if this is the official brand or just a move to try to build more hype.

What do you think of the Seattle Torrent name? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
